Welcome to Dartfield!
Dartfield is set in 350 acres of Co. Galway parkland and visitors are welcome to explore our walking trails, see the farm animals and take part in the many activities available, including horse riding, 4×4 off road driving, sheep dog demonstrations, archery, clay pigeon shooting, and a whole lot more, including the only museum in the world dedicated to Irish horses, Connemara ponies and Irish dogs. Our historic museum also features all aspects of Irish country life from 1800 – 1900.
Dartfield has facilities for the disabled and is an ideal venue for coach parties, school tours, kids parties, corporate days out and exhibitions & meetings. We are conveniently located on the old Dublin to Galway road near Loughrea. After your visit relax in our café and browse in our gift and saddlery shop.
The museum is a purpose built facility and the vision of legendary Irish horseman Willie Leahy who also leads the Connemara and Coast Trails. He was field master of the Galway Blazers Hunt for 30 years and is the largest breeder of Connemara ponies in the world. The Museum is open to visitors all year round.
We look forward to seeing you soon! Please note that pre-booking is required for all activities.
