All children love Dartfield. What could be better than spending a day surrounded by horses, ponies and dogs? Because Dartfield is very much a working estate, in the spring time we often have lambs in the stables which need bottle feeding. Our collection of Irish dog breeds are always delighted to see visitors.

There is so much for children to do at Dartfield. Apart from looking at the museum exhibits and seeing how their Grandparents lived, we have a huge range of toys and games to amuse them. We are always expanding and looking for new ways to improve the Dartfield experience.

During the summer months we regularly host a Pony Camp where youngsters can come to the museum and ‘own’ a pony for the duration of the camp.
Riding lessons are available on our safe and experienced ponies, from one of our caring and professional teachers.

The Dartfield Treasure hunt is great fun. Test your knowledge and see if you can be the first one to negotiate your way around the clues to find the treasure.
Dartfield is a wonderful venue for birthday parties for children of all ages.
